Oh my....I have SO many fond memories of Jim Viney from when I was a child. He did some carpentry work for my mom and dad on Echo Avenue, putting in a picture window in the living room. He taught me how to use the claw on a hammer to pull off the boards. I was his "helper" at all of 8 years old. He was a gentle soul with a peaceful smile. So many times I've thought of him over the years. Mr. Viney...you *will* be sorely missed. Say "hello" to Daddy up there, will you please? Rest in...

It has been many years since Jim visited Thomas LumberTown, but over the years Jim was a very good customer and much appreciated. Being in retail you meet and deal with many people. Jim was one of the finest. We have customers and we have customers who are friends. Jim was both. Please accept our sympathy for your loss.

Mr. Viney was a memorable part of my life growing up. He worked at Good Sam with my dad, Clarence Shumate and he made cabinets for my mom's church. He lived a long and beautiful life and his life touched many other lives - something you should all be proud of and keep alive through your own lives.

I worked with Jim at Good Sam. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.

I believe I have known Jim my whole life as he was very good friends with my mom and dad. There wasn't anything he couldn't do and he was truly gifted. He wil be missed. Sending much love and prayers to the family for your great loss. Cathy Norris Stotts (family friend)
