James E. "Jim" Wager

I will miss Jim very much. He was very instrumental in forming my career as a Deck Oficer in the Merchant Marine. From the time I was a Cadet from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, taking my Shipping Office training at American Mail Line in 1962, to the occasion of my first command as Captain of the SS Japan Mail in 1973, Jim was there helping, cajoling, and supporting my advance.
