He was a very lovely man and was a fixture on the local music scene. Thoughts to his family and loved ones.

God Bless you and your family Jim...I and the Roanoke faithful always enjoyed your guitar, singing and jams. You brought the love to Montclair back in the early 90´s at the second Annual Skyline Jam...I recall we want you and Echos Farm over a young undiscovered Dave Mathiew´s. I´m glad we did... May your songs and spirit continue to Echo and Shine in those who loved you and those you loved

Jim always greeted me with a gentle, warm smile. He had a very open heart. One of his great gifts was that he always made me feel like a very special friend, and I know there are many others who would say the same. He warmed my heart so many nights at the Diner at a time in my life when I really needed to hear his voice. I will miss you, dear friend.

I only met Jim once, in Scotland, when visiting my sister Kara while she and Sian were performing at a festival. One memory stands out in particular. I remember him playing guitar for people passing by. He saw another musician nearby setting up and after a couple more songs, he stopped to be sure to let the other musician share the spotlight. I imagine that is an example the type of person he was. I´m sorry to hear of Sian´s and the rest of his family´s loss.
