PARKER, Colo. - James A. Walker, Jr., age 39 of Parker, Colorado and formerly of Charleston, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Rev. John Connett will close the Visitation with a prayer. Graveside Services honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Morrisonville Cemetery, Morrisonville, Illinois with Rev. Ivan Jess officiating. It is requested that memorials in his honor be made to Camp New Hope or to the American Heart Association. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. James was born November 17, 1971 in Charleston to James A. and Mary Alice (Ellis) Walker, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Walker of rural Lerna, Illinois; three sisters, Michele Myerscough and husband Paul of Charleston, Martha Walters and husband Steve of Lovelady, Texas, Juanita L. Jones of Florence, Mississippi; a brother, Jimmy Walker also of Florence; several nieces and nephews including Spencer and Tyler Myerscough of Charleston and Geremy Jones of Ridgeland, Mississippi; an uncle and aunt, Robert and Gloria Ellis of Tacoma, Washington; and several cousins. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents. James was of the Nazarene faith and a United States Navy Reserve Veteran. He was knowledgeable in the field of computers and was employed as a systems engineer with Juniper Networks in Denver. He collected antique guns, loved cars and riding motorcycles, enjoyed music and attending concerts and was an avid reader – Barnes and Noble was his favorite store. He traveled extensively with his job which complemented his love for traveling and experiencing new things. James was an extremely private and reserved individual but possessed a politeness and a helpful and caring attitude toward others. He adored his cat Seska which was always good company and he loved his family dearly and always enjoyed coming home to visit. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
