1944-2014

James "Jim" A. Warren, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 after an eight month battle with leukemia.

Jim was born in Monroe, LA on September 6, 1944 to I.V. and Audrey Warren. Jim was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL graduating from Escambia High School in 1962. He attended PJC before joining the Air Force in 1964. After serving in the Air Force, he returned to Pensacola, FL to work for BellSouth until he retired in 2001. Jim was a life long member of Brownsville Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family, especially every moment he could with his two grandsons. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was one of the founding members of Burnt Warren Hunting Club in Old Texas, AL. Jim was an original member of the "Under the Tree Bunch" at the C.W.A. Union Hall. He also enjoyed afternoons as a regular at the Trading Post.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glenda Warren; his children, David (Jill), Kathryn, and Andrew; his grandchildren, Keegan Warren and Rhys Warren; his brother, Dennis Warren.

Memorial Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Celebrations of Life for Jim will be held in Pensacola, FL and Old Texas, AL. The time and date will be announced later.

Special thanks to the physicians, nurses and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and Sacred Heart Cancer Center at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL. The family wishes to also thank all of his many friends for their prayers and support throughout his illness.

Glenda, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great guy - insightful, thoughtful, a good friend, and he had a wicked sense of humor. While I haven't seen Jim in many years, I will always remember the laughs and conversations we shared. My deepest sympathies to you and your children.

Although I have not seen Jim in many years, I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I have fond memories of him. Although words can do little at this time to ease the grief of his family and friends, I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Glenda, David, Kathryn, Drew and Dennis I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a great man and I have many great memories and was glad to have seen him and able to talk about the good ol' days. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
