I worked at MGH with Dr. Welter. Over the years I've thought about him and Pat many times, I remember when they married and when Jamie was born. He was a fine man, to say the least and very well thought of by anyone who knew him. Condolences to Pat and family. I know he will be missed. God bless

My Uncle Jim was smart, funny and an all around great guy. We as a family have fond memories of visiting him and my Aunt Pat in Mobile and the home at the bay. It was nice to see him for his 90th Birthday last August. Great times and great memories. Always a Pleasure Uncle Jim. Rest in Peace.

Our family of 7 would visit our Uncle Jim and Aunt Pat in Mobile. We always enjoyed our visits especially at his cottage on the bay. A lot of good memories. Uncle Jim was a very kind man with a good sense of humor. We all will miss him. Rest In Peace, Uncle Jim.

My Uncle Jim was the most loving, kind, and compassionate man. I lost my first baby in 1980 to stillbirth. I was inconsolable. A few weeks later, I received the most beautiful letter from my Uncle Jim. A letter that did more to ease the pain of that terrible loss than anyone or anything else could. I still have that letter and will forever love him for his kindness. Rest well, Uncle Jim.

So sorry to hear. I worked with him at the hospital years ago and had utmost respect for this man. He was a true professional and I felt privileged to know him. It was a loss to our medical community. It was also a loss to USA when he left that hospital...
