Not sure what to say?

Rev Wert did my wedding service in1993 & my parents service when they renewed their vows.

Deepest sympathy from the Slapinski family. Rev Wert was DS when our dad, another Rev Jim, re-entered the ministry in the mid-seventies. He was joined in the planning of Wesley Village by our uncle, Rev George Kramer. His joy in serving the Lord was shared by our folks during his tenure at CUMC In Mountain Top. Any hesitation we had in thinking about Mom´s move to Wesley Village was gone on her first evening there.... A gentle knock on the door, Rev Jim had come to escort her to dinner......

My condolences to the family of Rev. James Wert. I met Rev Wert when he was pastor at Shavertown United Methodist church when I visited the church service one day. It was because of Rev Wert's very pleasant and charismatic personality that I decided to become a member at SUMC. He gave great sermons and became very animated during his sermons to keep your attention. He was an excellent speaker. Sometimes I would occasionally bump into him somewhere in town, and when I did, he would exhibit...

Pastor Jim was a wonderful, humble person who was committed to preaching the word of God. Even when he gave the benediction at our church, he had a message. He truly is with God now. My sincere sympathy goes out to all of his family. Know he truly had a calling to be a minister. He will be missed by many. Feel fortunate to have known him.

Jim was a great friend and I had the pleasure of being his secretary while he was DS of the Scranton District. If I heard my mailbox squeak around 6 AM, I knew Jim was on his way someplace and my day's work was here.

Pastor Jim served as Assistant Pastor at CUMC in Mountain Top after his "retirement" and was my partner in leading our Grief Support Group for several years. He always served us with a smile, compassion, and endless dedication. I considered him a dear friend and mentor. I missed him when he moved on to his next mission and was delighted to hear that his kindness continued to be appreciated when he became a resident at Wesley Village. I am so sorry for your loss, but his spirit lives on in...

Many fond memories of Rev. Wert growing up, he was a great friend and mentor to my father. My condolences and prayers to the family.

Pastor Jim was a fine religious and friend. friend. He supported my wife and I through an adoption and baptized our daughter. He was knowledgeable, sensitive, and caring in all phases of our relationship. It was a blessing to have known him and serving in ministry with him.

Pastor Jim was a wonderful pastor and colleague. In his retirement Jim served as a pastor for me when I was DS in the Wilkes-Barre District, and he continued to give of his time and care. I unfortunately will not be there for the service; but I did want to offer my appreciation for him and his gift to the church. He has been received into the arms of the God who created him and sustained him throughout his life. Well done thou good and faithful servant. Rev. Gregory C. Myers
