Original West Bros. apron and Mona Lizza Hat

My name is Andy Graham. Jim, Phil and Mike hired me in 1993 to wait tables at West Bros. BBQ. I needed a job and happened to call the restaurant to find out if they were hiring. Mike answered the phone and told me to come in and talk to his brothers. I thought to myself, 3 brothers running a restaurant, how cool. I went in and met Jim and Phil and quickly figured out this is the place to be. They hired me the same day.
I worked for this family for a couple of years and to this day I...

I knew Jim only briefly, working for him as a gardener. Our interactions were often in passing, as he was on his way to work , or coming home , but he would often take the time to talk with me, about many different things. I appreciated his energy and dedication to everything he was involved in. I think of him often. He is missed.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Jim during our time at the St. Paul's School Advanced Studies Program in the summer of 1980. We were in Advanced Physics together and lived in the Ford dorm. It was an amazing summer and getting to know Jim was a big part of the reason why. He was a natural leader, great athlete, and extremely smart. I still remember him reading a poem in English class and thinking he was the most well rounded person I had ever met. And yes, Jim earned "Superior" in...

I am really saddened by this. He was a good man and good boss. He hired me back in West Bros. BBQ.

My condolences to his family. He will be missed!

Very sad and sorry to hear of Jim's passing and extend condolences to Jim's family and current friends post Hanover High School. I knew Jim in High School where I was in the Class of 1980 and Jim was in many of my classes where he was in advance classes for his grade due to his commitment to his studies. Jim was in my German club where we went to Germany in April 1980 and Jim was great person who made us all laugh a lot during this trip. Something I will always treasure. I knew that he...

On behalf of the entire Class of '85 at Dartmouth College, I extend our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this most challenging time. Peace, Valerie Hartman (Class of '85)

I met Jim in the "Manny Hanny" bank training program in NYC back in 1985. Jim was erudite, funny, ironic, loyal and creative. So glad he moved out of commercial banking to be with his brothers, start some restaurants and have what I'm sure is a wonderful wife and children. My fellow "trainees" and I are shocked and saddened by his loss. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to his family.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the West family - I have worked with Jim since 2001 on so many projects - from selling paper and packaging in the Mucho Gusto concept to pickles at Dickie Jo's and my heart is saddened by this loss. He was insightful, motivated and a great pleasure to know and work with. My heartfelt thoughts reach out to the family for their great loss. He will be missed by so many.
