Jim was a great guy! He will be missed by his many friends. Dottie and my heart go out to his family at this time of sorrow.

Jim was an icon of Mount Washington, a beloved family man, and a friend to us all. We were honored and proud to call him friend. As he may have said about his ancestors, he was a tough 'ol Dutchman, but that hearty outdoorsman exterior belied a gentle romantic spirit, and the heart of a poet. He always appreciated the beauty that was around him, and you could always find warmth and welcome in the twinkle of his knowing eyes.

Jim leaves an enormous void in our mountain...

A true friend and a fine gentleman and someone I am proud to say "I went to school with Jim"

I am so sorry and you are in my prayers and Linda my dear do take care my Love to the family
