Fondly remember Jim, especially the 5 plus pound smallmouth bass I watched him catch and land with Clyde Hill one warm summer day on Woods Reservoir!

James Ralph White Jr. (Jim), age 69 of Suches, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Corinth Baptist Church in the company of friends and his loving wife, Rebecca White.
Born on August 14, 1953 in Shelbyville, TN, Jim was the first-born child of the late James Ralph White and Lois Roberts White. As a military child, Jim and his three younger brothers – John, Joe and Jeff were fortunate to experience many different places across the world.
Being the first-born son of an Army Colonel, Jim was thrust into a leadership role from an early age. He was the champion of his younger brothers and a role model to many. As he grew up, Jim developed several lifelong passions, including music, a great love for the outdoors, sports, hunting, and fishing.
Over the years, Jim collected and mastered many string instruments and could frequently be found strumming a bluegrass tune. He loved nothing more than to sing and play for his friends and family. As the born leader that Jim was, he found great joy in bringing people together for fellowship through his music.
For a brief period, Jim believed that he might follow in his fathers footsteps and attended West Point. After deciding that would not be the path for him, Jim found his way after meeting Becky while playing music in Lawton, OK. They married, moved to Tennessee, and he discovered his aptitude for computer science. Jim completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee while working at the UT Space Institute in Tullahoma, TN, and later also obtained a Master's degree from the University of Tennessee. His degrees served him well as he enjoyed a 20+ year career with Sun Microsystems and later Oracle in Atlanta, GA. After retiring from the tech industry, Jim taught high school for three years at Alpharetta High School, where he shared his vast computer knowledge and experience.
Jim retired to Suches, GA in 2019 where he and his wife Rebecca enjoyed their last years together. He was able to devote his time to his passions of hosting family and friends, fishing, playing music, and leading worship and growing in faith at Corinth Baptist Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jeffery White. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. Jim was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Rebecca White of Suches, his daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Nels Anderson V of San Antonio, TX, and his daughter Jessica and son-in-law Phillip McCurdy of Roswell, GA, two brothers and two sisters-in-law (John White of Houston, TX, Joseph and Cherie White of Longmont, CO., Jocelyn White Hinegardener of Rockingham, VA) and two grandchildren Rebecca Dawn Anderson and Nels Anderson VI. Jim leaves behind many other treasured relatives, friends, and church family.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 29, 2022, at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Derrick Pruett officiating. Family will meet with friends beginning at 12:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 549 Cavender Gap Road, Suches, GA 30572. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Becky, I am Jim’s first cousin Barbara(Roberts) Although I hadn’t seen Jim for years, he would still pop up in my memories from time to time . We so enjoyed visiting Lois and family. Their pool in Smyrna was where I first learned to swim! I love that the White boys were so involved in music. I remember Aunt Lois standing in church so many times and being led by the Spirit to sing. I know my mom and dad said many prayers for Uncle Ralph to trust in Jesus. I have no doubt that he , Jeff and...

It was with great sadness that I heard of Jim’s passing last Sunday. We have known jim since 1989, the same year that he and I both joined Sun. When Debbie and I and family moved to Huntsvile in 1991, Jim was my partner in developing the great team that developed the good will and good business for Sun over the Dixie District.
We subsequently moved to Atlanta 5 years later, and Jim,Becky and girls did as well not too long after.
I will remember Jim as a bright, funny,...

It is with Great Sorrow and Sadness we mourn the sudden and unexpected loss of our Friend, Brother in law and Family member Jim White. Having known Jim for almost 50 years and Becky even longer, we know Jim as a Smart, Talented, Fun and Loving Family Man. He Loved His Family, Playing Music, Fishing, the Outdoors and Life in General. Having built and moved into their Cabin, this seemed to be the Perfect spot for Jim and Becky to Enjoy Life. It was always a treat to visit or have Becky and Jim...
