Mr. James Franklin Wilkerson, age 78, of Orrum, NC, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020. He was born in Robeson County, NC on April 11, 1941 to the late Fuller Wilkerson, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Britt Wilkerson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was later employed as a local painter.


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Wilkerson, Annie W. Warrendoff, and Mary Ann Wilkerson Britt.


He is survived by a daughter, Cherie M. Richardson (Nathan) of Bladenboro, NC; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fuller Wilkerson, Jr. of Fairmont, NC.


The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. O’Neil Parker and Rev. Wade Hall officiating.


Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. C.F. McDowell III officiating.

So sorry to hear this sad news. My brother Dickie and I have known him our whole life remember exactly where he grew up close to us. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. He was a good man and friend.
