WILSON, James H. - Of Flint, age 89, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Darrell Foltz officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, Leader Dogs for the Blind or the First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc. Visitation 5-8PM Thursday, 1-8PM Friday and 11AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. James was born in Lexington, Tennessee on January 22, 1919, the son of Orzo and Cora Wilson, and was a resident of Flint most of his life. He married Delores Paxton on April 22, 1944 in Flint and she preceded him on December 11, 1991. He was a longtime volunteer at the Sloan Museum and a fixture at Supreme Donut Shop on Flushing Road. Mr. Wilson was employed by Hamady Brothers for 38 years, retiring as a produce manager in 1979. Surviving are 2 sons, James and wife Delores of Swartz Creek, Mark and wife Rhonda of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Christopher and wife Danielle, Todd and wife Karen, Robin and husband John Jared; 7 great-grandchildren, Mary, Conner, Ian, Hugh, Owen, Seth and Jordan; several nieces and nephews.
