He was a sweet, gentle, sincere, lovable and kind spirit with a smile to melt your heart. That's exactly how I will always remember him.

We were blessed to have known him, and have been touched by him, loved by him. Few men leave legacies such as his. Our special memories of Mr. Wilson will always be with us. Our prayers and hearts are with you.

Jim was a mentor to me at Tuskegee University. Before receiving my appointment as director of the Tuskegee Choir in 1993, Jim introduced himself and our friendship began.

Just as Jim and I connected, you bonded so well with my wife Shirl. There was never a time you came to Tuskegee that we didn't enjoy the chance to fellowship. Still, Jim was the center of our mutual joy.
