Not sure what to say?

I often think of our many extended discussions that Jim and I would have about this project or that challenge, enjoying the process of thinking out loud together and challenging each other. I miss his smile and his enjoyment of all things.

Jim was a respected friend and colleague. He will be sorely missed by the entire commercial real estate community. Sending our sincere condolences to the Winkler family.

Dear Susan and Family, Susanne and I were heartbroken to learn this news. Although out of touch since leaving Portland, our admiration and fondness for Jim (and you!) have never dimmed. Your loss is felt by us despite distance and time. Yours sincerely,

Dear Susan, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing and I send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I enjoyed working with him when PCVA joined the Portland Art Museum in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Jim was such a strong arts supporter and made Portland and Oregon a much better arts environment. Sincerely, John Weber Eugene

I am proud to have been able to call Jim a friend and business colleague over the past many decades. Jim brought remarkable intelligence, judgement and humor to even challenging situations; demanding, smart & fair. He made our city better by his projects, leadership and philanthropy. Jim was always proud of, and fully invested in, his family; my heartfelt condolences.

My condolences to the Winkler family. I enjoyed working with Jim over the years. He will be missed. Best regards, Michael Anders

Dear Susan and family, Toinette and I were greatly saddened when learning of Jim's passing. He was brilliant and incisive. Then working with him at Cedar Sinai he thought through problems in great detail and arrived at solutions that were appropriate and well reasoned. His work at Cedar Sinai Park will be a lasting memory. I consider if to have been my good fortune to have known Jim and to have had the opportunity to work with him. Sincerely, Victor Menashe

Julia - my heart is so broken for you! You know I lost my dad suddenly when we were at Kellogg and all I can say is that it takes a very long time to come to terms with a dad being gone. I know you so loved being able to move home and work with him and I´m so happy you had this precious time with your family. I will be thinking of you in the coming weeks, please call or text if you need a non judgmental cry or laugh. Love you!

Of all the museum trustees, fewer made me feel more valued than Jim.
