Not sure what to say?

When I arrived in Boston, to work for BWH, colleagues recommended a Dr. Winshall as a primary CARE physician to me. They knew why his name came to mind. Now, after years of having had the privilege and fortune to experience him as a medical PROFESSIONAL, I do too.

James, wherever you are... you personified CARE for me and countless others. From the start, I felt comfortable as your patient. I always appreciated your sound medical advice and treatment plans. I believe, by becoming...

As they said of Schindler, "generations will live because of you." Your generous heart kept others safe; I expect your soul will do much the same.

I am a former patient of Dr. Winshall he was and excellent doctor and he will be missed.

We remember Jamie as a marvelously gentle teacher and caring human being. He was a role model for us all in his skills as a physician but even more so as a father and husband. We send our love to Gail and the kids. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Lakshmi and Matt

Dear Gail, Nathan, Daniel & Lisa,
We are saddened by your loss, and inspired by the strength of love that surrounds you. We only knew Jamie as your Husband and as your Dad through our kids at the Manning School. It is amazing how easy it is to picture his smiling, joyful face.

Dear Gail -
I heard the devastating news this weekend. I cannot express the sorrow and sadness that I feel nor can I imagine that which you and your children are feeling now. I am so sorry to hear of this inconceivable tragedy. Jamie was a truly stellar physician, wonderful person, and a great companion. I truly appreciate all you and Jamie have done for me. Please know that I have thought of you all often and that I am thinking and holding you and your family in my prayers and...

Dr. Jamie was a physician who emboddied all the ideals that the medical community had set forth over the centuries. He was unique and is irreplacable. I am proud to have known him and so very fortunate to have had him as my doctor. I want to extend my deepest condolences to his family.

I trained under Jaime and I will always remember him as one of the most caring physicians that I have had the opportunity to learn from. He was one of those attendings you most wanted to emulate. His sense of humor, knowledge and dedication to his patients and his trainees was an inspiration to us all. He will be missed greatly. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Although I only had a brief opportunity to work with Jamie as an attending, his presence as a teacher, provider of care, and fellow human were felt deeply. His patients clearly adored him, as did the housestaff who had the pleasure and opportunity to work with him. He will still constantly fill the halls of the Brigham, as he exemplified many of the Brigham's ideals: humanism, intelligence, compassion, excellence, etc. All my deepest sympathies go to Jamie's wife, children, extended family,...
