TEACHER/COACH/FRIEND

Mr. James W. Winters Obit. Feb. 24 2005
IF YOU HAD MR. WINTERS AS A TEACHER/COACH or like many other people admired his persona, please submit your comments. The obituary did a good job sharing part of his story. Indeed a historical first in Oregon, as well as, St. Paul HS - St. Paul, Oregon. Your comments/memories are needed to strengthen the meaning of Mr. Winters' accomplishments.
Looking back, this is an experience that should be told to our children. Just like Mr....

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Coach Winters. As my senior history teacher at Franklin HS, he had been a wonderful, kind, and supportive influence on me. He "coached" me on how to work on my shyness to try out for the 1969 Rose Princess selection at school, and when I won, he declared I owed him "big time." I was his princess. Patricia and family,
I can't begin to relate the impact that "Mr. Winters" had on my life as my teacher and coach at St Paul high school. I have great memories of those years. May God grant you peace in this time of sorrow.

We didn't spend a lot of time with James but heard warm wonderful stories of him from our(yours & ours) grandson Anthony. We will miss him. We pray for you to have strength to get through these very difficult times.

To the Winters Family, May God give you each his strength and comfort you in this time of sorrow. Cousin Jim will always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless each of you. Love, Annette Winters Ray

Words cannot express our deepest sympathy during the home going of Cousin Jim Winters. However we realize that our almighty God is too wise to err. You are in our thoughts and prayers!

Patricia & Family,
All of you have gained a special place in our hearts over the past months of Ed serving as Jim's care giver. It has been his privilege and honor to be a part of your journey and share Jim's wonderful spirit. Ed enjoyed every minute of his time with Jim even if he is the Ultimate UN-Sports fan. He will always treasure the time he spent at your home. Thanks for making him feel a part of your family.
Jim has crossed on to a much grander place than we can ever...

I had the pleasure of meeting cousin Jim only once. When i met him, it was as if i had known him all of my life. It is with regret
that i extend my deepest sympathy to The Winters Family. You are in my prayers.

Love,

Our prayers are with you. May the Lord comfort you.
