Jim was one of the nicest people. I was new to the area and he welcomed me as though he had known me forever. Tragic that he went so fast. I cannot imagine the shock you have felt. Peace be with you.

I remember so well, Jim's smile. I was at the N C State School of Design when I met Jim. I also shared an apartment with him and his girlfriend my first semester in grad school. Jim and I hung out with the same group of design friends. I graduaed to Atlanta after I graduated and soon so did Jim and again we hung out in same circle of friends. After 3 years, I left Atlanta but Jim stayed and opened up a great studio, married Hollis! In the past few years Jim and I stayed in touch through...

Jim was an incredible artist and a wonderful person! We endured Ms. Erlick´s (sp?) art class at Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC. Jim was the best artist in the class. I believe he was in charge of designing, art directing and painting an incredible mural in Broughton. I´m so glad I got to know him. - Susan Weathers Myers, Class of 1969.

Bill and I are stunned and saddened by the sudden loss of Jim. He livened Sunday School classes with art lectures and visuals of religious art. Quite the expert and an engaging presenter. We first got to know him through our daughters who were in school together from Morningside through Grady. Our prayers are with Jim´s family. Gay Haley

Guy and I are just heartbroken to learn of Jim´s passing. He was an exceptional human and lived his life to the fullest prayers of comfort for Hollis and his children and many friends. Godspeed Jim.

I cherish the memories of the many trips I have taken with Jim. I will miss his sense of humor and frankness! He truly was a special man and will be missed by many.
