Not sure what to say?

This was one person who you may not know, but you knew who he was by his spirit! Thank you dear friend for the guidance over the years.

So sorry for your loss. Phil ws a great man and a great minister.

Laura, I'm so sorry about the loss of your father. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Randy, Amy, and Laura,
Our deepest condolences and sympathies to you and your families.

Do Justice. Love Kindness. Walk Humbly.
That's our Phil. Never to be forgotten. When I grow up I want to be just like him.

Phil brought me into the La Conference in 1995 after I had returned from Africa as a very tired missionary. He was my first DS and a caring mentor. I knew that if United Methodists had people like Phil, then I had found a new home!

I remember Phil's excellent leadership in "Methodist Mondays," where he arranged for us to meet Methodist legislators and discuss our church's focus. It opened my eyes to another realm of church work. He also served as Spiritual Director when I was the rectora of Cursillo #55 and pretty much did what the spirit bade him to do rather than read the Manual. As always, he was wonderfully kind, helpful, and universally pleasant. I am so glad I knew him and am sending prayers to his family. God...

Phil was a good friend, a valued colleague, and a true champion of social justice. He will be missed.
