Not sure what to say?

I had the honor and privilege of meeting Dr. Yamazaki and his daughter Caroline in 2015, when he spoke to a spellbound audience of City of Portland employees. He was 99 at the time and patiently signed copies of his book! I will be forever grateful for spent time with Dr. Yamazaki.

I never met DR JAMES YAMAZAKI, however I had the beautiful experience meeting his daughter, KATHERINE at LOS ANCIONOS, this morning, while having lunch in TAOS, NM. We met, we shared the legacy our wonderful parents left us, which led me to look up Dr YAMAZAKI´s orbitiary. He is a true hero who served OUR COUNTRY during WWII overseas under very arduous conditions. I salute him as I too, share a legacy left by my grandfather (WWI) and 2 uncles (WEII) one who was a prisoner under the...

Jim and my father had been roommates at Marquette Medical School and remained close friends over the years. He and Aki took care of me when I moved to CA for graduate school, and were present when my husband and I were married. I will always remember him to be one of the kindest most caring physician and friend. He will always be remembered with loving thoughts.

Dr. Yamazaki was a family friend. He attended Marquette Medical School together with my father-in-law, Dr. Edward K. Lau. He was a kind and generous person who had a genuine concern for all of his patients, including our daughter. His service as a member of the Army Medical Corps, his contributions in education and research were incredible despite all the obstacles he faced. A gentle soul, he will be missed by all. His was a life well-lived.

Grandfather, I am so grateful to be part of your story. I will carry you close in my heart for the rest of my life ♥

I was a patient of Dr. Yamazaki too! He and Aki were close friends of my parents, Harry and Marian Fang. What an inspiring life - he gave so much too so many people.

My family and I read his book, Children of the Atomic Bomb and it touched us profoundly.

Deepest condolences on your loss. What an amazing human being!

Dr. Yamazaki was my pediatrician. What a wonderful man, great doctor, great human. My condolences go out to his family and love ones may his memories be eternal.

Truly a great man..Jim and his family lived across the street from my family when I was growing up..He was a compassionate and caring man, always had a good word and always had great advice for me as I was growing up.. I hadn't seen him in a few years but I'll miss him..
