James L. "Jim" Yates

When I think of Jim, I think of wiffleball in Jimmy Chiles' yard with Ronnie, Denny and Jim. I think of him, wearing his catcher's mask behind the plate for Lincoln Income in Little League. I think of playing basketball outside at Lourdes 'til dark. I think of riding our bikes along the streets and alleys of St. Matthews. I think of the Toy Bowl in 1958, inside Freedom Hall. I think of a low key, generous guy with a quick wit.
