Jan was my boss and friend at one of my first jobs out of college. His sparkle, wisdom and creative nature influenced me deeply. I am sad to hear of his passing and send blessings and love to his family.

I looked Jan up in the Pt. Loma Yearbook to see how young and handsome he was and as he remained throughout his life. His photo is right next to mine as a 1966 graduate. Interestingly, he named his son Glenn which is my maiden name. Anyone who cares about children's literature as Jan did would be described as fun loving,young at heart and interested in the education of the next generation. I missed out on not knowing him better and wish to express my sincere condolences to those who loved...
