Jan Marie Hodgson

On September 12, Jan M. Hodgson went to her heavenly home. She was born February 11, 1943 in Houston, TX to Jack C. Goodson and Alice V. Carpenter Goodson. She attended Industrial High School and played flute in the Industrial Golden Cobra band. She married Max R. Hodgson in October 1965 and settled in Inez, TX to raise their family. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, she will be remembered for sharing her love of music. She played the piano and organ for numerous churches and funeral homes, including St. Joseph Catholic Church, Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, and McCabe-Carruth and Rosewood Funeral Homes. During her time in Inez she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she played the organ and piano for many years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Alice V. Carpenter, a son Jimmy W. Hodgson, her father Jack C. Goodson, her husband Max R. Hodgson, and step-mother Fannie Mae Goodson.

She is survived by a son, Jack R. Hodgson and his wife, Janice of Waco, TX, a daughter, Jana R Hodgson Burleson and her wife, Melanie of Waco, Tx, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Victoria, TX, at 10:00am on Saturday September 16, 2017.
