Not sure what to say?

Thank you all for the wonderful things you have said about my brother. His daughter Lauren, his two grandchildren Rowan and Gabriel, and his entire family will keep all of these messages close to our hearts as we move forward with our lives without Jan among us. Seventeen members of Jan's birth family came to Dallas from all parts of the country to bid him farewell. Our dad was from Holland and our many cousins in The Netherlands mourn his loss and also appreciate your kind words. Jan gave so...

JAN AND I WERE IN LAW SCHOOL AT LSU FROM 1970-1973. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF HAVING HIM, AMONG SEVERAL OTHERS AT JACK BROOK'S FIRM, REPRESENT ME IN SEVERAL IMPORTANT CASES. HE WAS TRULY A GENTLEMAN AND A FIRST CLASS LAWYER, IN THE FINEST SENSE OF THAT WORD. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
MICHAEL KIRBY

I was Jan's paralegal for almost seven years. He was the most hard-working person I have ever known. He taught me many things, not just about the practice of law and litigation, but about myself and how important it is to participate in outside organizations and keep up with technology. Jan, I hadn't seen you lately, but you were a huge influence on my career and my life, and I will never forget you. You and your family are in my prayers.

To Ms. Iris and Family,

I remember when I first met Jan five years ago when I started working with Easter Seals Louisiana. He always went out of his way to help me and make me feel welcomed. The more I got to know him the more I realized that I was blessed to be able to work with such a great and funny person. He will be missed dearly. Ms. Iris, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Jan and I were law partners for 17 years. He was in every respect a wonderful man. During his tenure as a board member and as Chairman of the Easter Seals Society, much progress was made in providing help to those with disabilities. As a lawyer he was a hard-working,honest and ethical advocate for his clients. I will be among the many who will miss his counsel and company. Rest in peace, Jan

Jan was a great friend and all of his work on behalf of AAPL was much appreciated. He was always ready to help at whatever task seemed impossible.

He will be missed greatly

To Family and Friends:

I met Jan when I started at AAPL in 1989 and will always cherish the many, many memories of all wonderful times we shared during my 13 years at AAPL. Jan was “the man” whenever you needed anything. I will always remember his big smile and good heart. Iris and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I got to know Jan and Iris five years ago from teaching confirmation at Highland Park United Methodist Church. We love them both and I will miss Jan. He was funny and we used to raz each other about college football. He was LSU and I was Ole Miss. He always had a smile on his face, was witty and was a super guy. God bless you Jan. God rest your soul and I know you are in heaven!

Jan is one of my favorite landmen ! He always would go out of his way to say hello to "the wives" at Landman meetings. What a great guy ! We will miss him.
