Not sure what to say?

Cute story: found a black lab tied to a dumpster behind a Mexican restaurant. Took him home and now he's my doggo. Named him TJ which is short for Taco Joe. Thank you, Jane, for that cute beginning piece you wrote -- and for helping me to name my new dog!

I wanted to write to James Bastien to thank him for the joys he is giving this adult beginner during this tragic time, and then I learned he had died, then I thought I would write to his wife for the same, but then i saw she too had passed away.
It saddens me so much that these two people who gave us so much are gone, and that I can't thank them.
I wish there was some way to do so much more,
Karen

Still using her teaching materials. Jane will never be gone from this earth as long as good piano teachers use Bastien materials.

I'm devastated by her passing. I wasn't her best student but she was my best teacher. Mrs. Bastien made me enjoy music. She had so much patience. She was so dedicated to everyone around her. You always think that she would be here forever and then now she isn't. I'm at lost for words. She was so kind and treated me like a family member. I practiced at her house for hours and hours while she gave me multiple lessons during the day. She always gave me my piano lesson at the end of the day so...

As a small child, I lived next door to Gladys Smisor in Hutchinson, Kansas. One of my earliest memories, at the age of 3, was knocking on her door to ask if I could listen while she gave piano lessons. I remember seeing Jane during a visit and I recall she was beautiful and most kind. When Jane married, Gladys called me to her house and gave me a bouquet from her wedding. Gladys was so proud of Jane and talked often about her. They were wonderful people. From humble beginnings Jane and her...

Her obitiuary was this weekend. I've known her since kindergaten and I thought she'd always be around. I really took her for granted and I wish I was more grateful, but I am so lucky to have spent time with her. She really did live a beautiful life. My prayers are with her and her family. Thank you Ms. Bastien.

I grew up in Hutchinson taking piano lessons in the 1960s where her influence was profound. My sympathy to her family and friends.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Jane's passing. When I lived in the San Diego area, Jane and Jim visited with us, and I also visited with Jane in La Jolla. She contributed so much to the musical world - and will always be remembered for her graciousness and and friendship.

At Stephens College

Jane was my Mom's roomie at Stevens College. Mom just passed yesterday and my sister and I found a letter Jane wrote to my Mom shortly after graduation. I would love to send you a scan of it if you gave me some contact details.
