Jane B. Cate

Contoocook, NH - Jane B. Cate, age 85, of Deer Path, passed away on November 8, 2024 at Pleasant View Center.

She was born in Newport, NH, daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Alexander) Barton.

Jane worked for many years as a Medical Office Manager. She enjoyed sewing and cross stitching, reading, traveling and bird watching, especially spotting the cardinals.

Jane is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Averill Cate, Sr.; 3 children, Averill Cate, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Darin Cate and his wife Carla of Tolland, CT, and Marjorie Davis of Contoocook; 2 grandchildren, Iona Davis and Joshua Jackson; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Katherine B. Johnson.

Visiting hours will not be held.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 180 Loudon Road, Concord.

Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Concord.

The Waters Funeral Home in Concord has the honor of assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Food Pantry, 180 Loudon Road, Concord, NH 03301 or the Christ the King Food Pantry, 72 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301.

I don´t have any first memories of my life that don´t have Jane woven throughout. She was so good to my grandparents, Harry and Vi Hicks, sewed so many sweet dresses, and had the best laugh! I´m thankful that we had a chance to keep in touch. Sending peace to Averill, and the kids. Patte
