I met Jane in 1978 as we were each hired as Title I teachers at the former Farley Middle School. It was the first year for the program at the middle school level and we all worked very hard to help the students we were assigned. However, Jane was such a joy to work with. Whenever we would get frazzled at the amount of work we were responsible for her usual comment was "Let's not make a High Mass out of this." I use this phrase to this day in my home. A long time ago, I went down the street to play with Lenny and Johnny. Jane (Mrs. Conlin)asked me to help her bring in a lot of groceries. Len must have taken the kids out, the house was calm, without the bustling energy of a house full of children.Mrs. Conlin offered me a candy bar for helping.
