Jane M. Conroy

I met Jane Conroy in the mid 1970s when I was the director of the Coe College Upward Bound program, when my good friend, Chuck Dillard, then the vice principal at Washington High School, referred her to me. Smart kid he said, but not attending school. Asked why, he said she was really smart and the school had nothing to offer her. Dear Janie, your brilliance and your quirky sense of humor will be much missed. Your life was one long adventure, and I'll look forward to sharing stories with you once we are both among the ancestors.

Janie and I were friends in 7th grade. She made life fun and fascinating. I will always be grateful for our friendship. She loved her siblings and I remember drinking ovaltine at her house while watching her paint with acrylics. She was so talented and creative and intelligent and funny. The obituary was a lovely tribute to her. Sending love to the family at this very sad time.
