Not sure what to say?

Condolences and sympathy to friends and family of Jane Covington - who are still surprised and distraught that Jane has passed on and isn't just a post card, a visit or a phone call away. Rest in peace, Jane. You were one of a kind...and we miss you.

I just found Janie's obituary quite by accident. It's most upsetting. I knew her at UCSB back in the 1970s, we lived in the same dormitory. She was bright, articulate, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor. We talked a lot about international events which were one of her big interests and I'm not surprised that she had a successful career in the field. We also played tennis together (she was a very good player). I am truly saddened that she's gone. Such a fine woman. My...

I had known Jane such a short time through work, but truly enjoyed her friendship. I had been trying to get in touch with her since she fell ill and am sorry to hear she passed away. She loved her children with all her heart and she will be truly missed.

Jane was such a sweet lady, I only had the pleasure of knowing her for a short time, but I do know how much she loved her boys and what a void her passing has left in their lives... I am glad to know she had so many good and long time friends... Lori Howard, Nipomo, Ca.

My heart and prayers go out to Steve and his sons in this difficult time. Although I never had the plaeasure of meeting Jane, I heard alot about her and based on how her sons turned out it is easy to see that she was a fantastic mother. Our prayers are with you.

As I read other entries, I notice that we all shared some very long conversations with Jane. We knew her through two assignments in Belgium and shared the losses of our mothers together. Jane loved Brett, Ryan, and Ben like no other mother and always spoke well of other children whether it be friends of her boys, children in the orphanage, or her nieces and nephews. Just look at what outstanding boys she raised and that speaks wonders for her mothering! Our prayers are with you all, and you...

It has been said that life is a journey, and with Janie as a friend, it sure was! We shared much over the decades during our wonderful journey: lots of laughter, longs talks, trips to the beach, and even tears. It is hard to believe that our journey has come to an end--way too soon!! Janie, your leaving has left a void in my life that no one will ever fill; but being your friend has been a blessing that will last a lifetime! Brett, Ryan, and Ben always remember you were your mom's greatest...

Janie and I first met our freshman year in high school. The details are fuzzy now but I have no doubt that Mike Wilhelm introduced us. I loved music from an early age and I think that was what drew us together as we were in band. Good times.. I remember that she really loved jazz and that was my first introduction to other music besides pop and rock n roll. She would always call me by my full name ("Mike Manzano") not Mike and would lecture me on being more aware of current events. We...

I met Janie the summer before my freshman year at Delano High in summer band with Mr. Page. I had gone to a small elementary school in the country (Columbine) and Mr. Page was our band instructor, so he signed me up for band. That is where our friendship began and where I met a core group of friends that are still close to my heart today. We used to ride our bikes to Lake Woollomes in the heat just to take a dip on the other side of the lake. We would walk downtown and go bug Mike Wilhelm...
