Not sure what to say?

I still frequently think of Jane. There are few in this life who have her perspective and way with words. We shared so much laughter. I know we would now be having some great conversations about the political world. But I don't know that she would have been happy with this winter. I remember her always calling in late winter, when she saw the first buds of spring. Like all of you, I wish she would not have left us so soon.

I also first met Jane at Wayne State University at about age 17. I was looking her up to send her a note when I found her obituary. She will remain to me one of the most charming people I have ever met. (And I am old!) She was romantic and loving as well as witty and sharp. I don't know any of her children, etc. but I am sure she will be missed very much. You have my heartfelt condolences.

I've known Jane since we were both 17 and met at Wayne Statue University when we both worked at the Wayne Daily Collegian. I have a collection of her letters to me while I was a young mother married to a foreign service officer in Mexico City. We went through marriage, childbirth, work lives together. She and I had many good times together over 50 years. I hadn't seen Jane since I moved to New York a few years ago and our friendship got interrupted by time and circumstances and her...

It's Sunday. I woke up thinking I'd better get lunch ready for Jane's visit. A long leisurely lunch, then sometimes hours spent rocking and talking with her on the front porch with her cigarette and cup of coffee. I miss our Sundays. Sharing my love with all those who love and miss her.

My condolences to all of the Flints. Because of the stories I heard over the years, I feel like I know you. Jane delighted in each and every one of you, your family gatherings and the food that was served.
I met Jane at an open house at the Jackson Art Center, where I had a studio. We soon became friends. When I decided to apply to a gallery, she not only gave me much needed moral support, she helped me lug my quite large paintings up two flights of stairs to the gallery where they would...

I can recall countless times visiting the Flint household. Joe would gruffly let me in and there would be Mrs. Flint, invariably with a book, a cup of coffee, and the obligatory cat. The book would be closed, the cat would scamper and Mrs. Flint would greet me with a huge smile and a very witty remark- usually in reference to some kind of tomfoolery that Joe and I were planning. She put up with all kinds of antics. Loud music, watching the Redskins, late night calls from friends, and an...

She did indeed possess a sharp wit, but provided comfort and encouragement, and suffered the foolishness of our band rehearsals at 91 Edgemont, as well.

I met Jane when I was the then-girlfriend of one her sons, and immediately I understood the wit and intelligence that characterized the whole family. I am proud to have known her. She was a wonderful person who I am happy to have counted as a friend.
