In honor of a life devoted to ministry through music, the family requests that in lieu of flowers a gift be made to the Jane Frownfelter Music Memorial Fund at Riverside Tabernacle. She was born July 16, 1935, in Flint, MI, daughter to Naomi and Glen Praschan. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1953. She was pianist for the Ambassadors Quartet, touring in the U.S. and Canada in the 1950s, then attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri, to study music. She served as Church Secretary for Riverside Tabernacle for five years. In 1961, she married Bernarr Frownfelter and together they had three sons, Daniel, David and John. She was a life long member of Riverside Tabernacle. She and her husband also were active with the Assemblies of God RV-MAPS missions/construction work. A dedicated homemaker, her life was full with raising children, going to church, entertaining, traveling and being a helpmate to her husband. She played both piano and harp proficiently, and likely could have had a classical concert/professional music career if she had chosen that path. As a teacher and performer, Jane was highly regarded for her technical music theory and Spirit-anointed performance. She began playing publicly at the age of 15, and served as the church pianist at Riverside Tabernacle for about 50 years. She was a member of the American Harp Society, the St. Cecelia Society, and a founding member of the harp trio Glissando which performed at many public and private events in the Flint area. She taught scores of piano students over a period of three decades, several of which also became accomplished musicians. Along with her husband, she is survived by three sons: Daniel Bernarr (and Kathy) of Goodrich, David Graham (and Sue) of Flint, and Dr. John Glen (and Wasan) of Huntington Woods; mother, Naomi Praschan of Grand Blanc; and sister, Sharon (Dr. Larry) Tarno of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, Chad, Aubree, Megan, Isabella, Colton, Rebekah, Peter and Paul; and many dear friends including our special "angel" Colleen Heatwole, who attended Jane with vigilance and dedication, and the Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan (hospice). She was preceded in death by her father Glen Praschan.
