Jane Gomez Obituary

Jane Lusco Gomez at the Trace on Wednesday, December 13, 2014. Age 99 years. Ms. Gomez was the daughter of the late Theresa Giglio and Frank Lusco of Bogalusa, Louisiana. She was the sister of the late Frances Giordano, Frank Lusco, Jr., Ann Bennett, Mamie Browder, Dunlap and Rose Lupo. Ms. Gomez was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She has lived in the New Orleans area since 1940. She worked at the Port of Embarkation during World War II. Before Katrina she was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Metairie and was a member of the Sharing Program for many years. She is survived by one son, Lajoie Gomez and two daughters Dianne Dimitri and Delores Oppenheim, four grandchildren, Tianne Routman, Dr. Ronnie Dimitri, Sandy Millet, Dina Prouet, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins and other relatives. A Memorial Mass was held at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 12:00 Noon.
