Jane Goodson Obituary
GREENSBORO - Jane B. Goodson, 87, passed away on Sunday February 24, 2013. She is survived by her husband, William A. Goodson Jr.; her three children, William A. Goodson III and his wife, Leigh Goodson, of Ridgewood, NJ, Missy Chance and her husband, James Chance, of Jamestown, NC, and Thomas H. Goodson of Greensboro; and her grandchildren, Mika Chance, James Chance and James Goodson; her siblings, Mary Bohannon, Anne Criscillas and Sarah Wright and John Bohannon who predeceased her.
Jane was born in Sandersville, GA and grew up in Asheville, NC. She and her husband, Bill owned and operated Allen Hardware for many years. She later worked at the Children's Home Society for over 20 years.
She was a longtime member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. She taught Sunday School for over 20 years and was an active member of the Saint Elizabeth's Circle as well as serving in the Stephens Ministry.
Visitation will take place at the Parish Hall at St Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, March 1, 2013.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Saint Francis Episcopal Church beginning at 4 PM followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
Donations can be made in her memory to the NC Children's Home Society, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.
Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel has the honor of assisting the Goodson family.

We remember Jane from our St. Francis days as a beautiful soul inside and out. That was many years ago, but the remembrances are still strong. She is now a member of God's heavenly kingdom!

Jane's (all female) Cursillo Reunion Group met at the same time as my (all male) group. Her invitation to join them when the men didn't show embodies her kind-hearted spirit: "You're my brother in Christ, so you're welcome to join us."

Missy-Very sorry to hear about your mom.I actually talked to her a few times when I would see her in the grocery store.I had no idea that her health was declining since they closed the Harris-Teeter at Goldengate Center where I used to see her.She was always so nice and friendly.I asked her about you and I could tell how much she loved you and your brothers. I hope you are doing well.I lost my mother almost a year ago.It is tough but you will get through it.
