Jane was exceptional. Her early death was tragic. I keep a copy of her obituary on my computer. I think of her often and smile.

I only learned last night of Jane's passing and was shocked by the news. She was one of the most brilliant students the law school ever had. Her work contributed hugely to a leading treatise on criminal law. She was, as the obituary says, a lovely person. She always did her best to help others, especially the vulnerable. I hope her family and friends are finding comfort in their memories of Jane.

Ed, So sorry to hear of your wife Jane 's passing. From reading her obituary, it sounds as though she lived a very full life which you shared and enriched. Even though I, did not really know Jane, I could tell that you loved each other very much. May all the great memories you shared sustain you during this difficult time. Take care of yourself friend. Ed, I was so sad to learn of Jane´s passing. Jane was a remarkable person, a remarkable jurist and a remarkable friend. I know the love that you and Jane shared. You and Jane built a wonderful and exciting life together. You both loved teaching and loved teaching together. God has given you so many wonderful memories of Jane; and her love of sharing two decades with you as husband and wife. May the gift of love from Jane live forever in your heart. Ed, my deepest sympathy. Though I never got to sit with Jane, my most vivid memory is that whenever we met she always had a big smile , which seems to have been reflective of the person she was. A great loss to you and to your entire family, as well as to those whose lives she brightened.

To the Grall and Neafsey families, John and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Jane´s death. Her dad and my mom were brother and sister. She truly was an incredibly accomplished lady. What a wonderful life of public service she lead, and I am so proud of her. We send you prayers and our best wishes. We hope your fond memories of Jane, her travels and life, will bring you comfort. Ed-I was so sorry to hear of Jane´s passing. While we haven´t been in touch for years, I have wonderful memories of bot of you, and what stands out for me about Jane were her compassion and her smile. She was such a nice person.
