Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Burkburnett Obituary

Jane Marie Hanks, 70, went to her Heavenly Home, Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.  Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Electra Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Lawson officiating.

Jane was born July 17, 1951, in Longview, Texas, to Gloria Ann and Patrick Boyle.  She grew up in East Texas and Electra, Texas, with her two sisters, graduating from Electra High School in 1969.  Jane met her husband, Terry, when they were both working at the Sheppard Air Force Base commissary.  They were married February 1, 1974, and have two daughters.  They are longtime residents of the Friberg Cooper community.  Always taking care of everyone around her, Jane loved being a homemaker, a wife and mom, “Aunt Jane”, and especially “Ma” to her grandkids.  She was a wonderful cook with a bright smile and laugh.  She enjoyed watching old TV programs and church, and loved music and singing, especially Doo-Wop music.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents.

She has left behind her husband of 47 years, Terry Hanks; daughters and their husbands, Melissa and David Wallis and Tina and Danny Saravane; grandchildren William, Aiden, Lily, and Channing; sisters and their husbands, Lynda and Greg Lynn and Patty Kay and Terry Don Bruce; and lots of beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that those who wish may make a donation to Jane’s favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Grace Ministries, 215 E 3rd St, Burkburnett, TX 76354.

Tina and family my sincere sympathy on your tremendous loss.

Fun, sweet, lovable!

She was always sweet in school. We didn’t run around together but when your graduating class is only 48 students you all knew each other. Loved her smile. I always remember her smiling. Prayers to her family on their loss.
