Not sure what to say?

I loved working with Jane at the Human Services Agency. I often went out of my way to stop by her office and ask a question or just talk. She always challenged me to think bigger, to include the perspectives of people who did not have a voice, to be better. When she retired, I missed her perspective, and hearing about her passing now makes me more aware of that sense of loss, of how unique she was.

Jane was lovely, funny, kind, creative and inspirational. All those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her, are blessed for the encounter. She was a true original that I'll sincerely miss. I send my deepest condolences to David.

Dear David,

So sorry to hear of Jane's passing. She sounds like she was a remarkable soul and life partner. Please accept my condolences to you and your family.

Grief and loss are on my genda as well right now. It's a long and mainly solitary journey I'm finding, but the support of family and friends is a balm of immense value.

These Buddhist temple flowers from Laos are for Jane.

Warm regards,

Jane was a teacher of mine at a time in my life when I needed warmth, simplicity and strength. Most of all she made me feel accepted as a person. I didn't have to prove anything to her. That was and is a rare and wonderful quality. My deepest sympathy to her family. Lots of love to,you, Jane.

So many memories of an ethical, actualized woman.

Jane never lost her wonderful sense of humor; it is what I will miss most about her. We became good friends back in the 70s in Cambridge. She has left us much too soon, but we can be grateful, as she was, for a life well lived. I will miss Jane's thoughtfulness, and humor, and loyal friendship .

Dearest Jane.... even when you are gone from this world, you make me smile with your wonderful obituary!! As one of the employees who left the City and for whom you wrote a limerick, I mourn your loss!! I will always remember your sense of fairness, calming spirit and sense of humor. May you rest in peace, my colleague, friend and wonderful human being! JOY Rivera-Trim
