Jane Heidelbach MORAN

MORAN, Jane Heidelbach, 91, died on April 1, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late George C. Heidelbach and Louise Ball Heidelbach; and sister to the late Nancy Dale Foxwell of Catonsville, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Timothy Augustus Moran. Jane attended Mount Holyoke College. She received her B.A. from Goucher College, and her M.A. from Hampton University. Embracing her role as a military wife and mother, she also enjoyed a career as a teacher and counselor. A lifelong lover of learning, she was an avid reader, passionate about politics, fascinated by current events and a lively conversationalist. She also enjoyed golf, bridge, word puzzles and had recently decided to take up chess. Survivors include son, Michael G. Moran (Molly) of Athens, Ga.; daughter, Elizabeth Jennings Moran of Richmond; and granddaughter, Alison Moran Thompson (DeWitt) of Atlanta. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery this summer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
