Jane O’Neil (nee Wittel ) 84 of Mountainside died on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on August 28, 2025 11:30 am from St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church
2032 Westfield Ave Scotch Plains NJ. Interment to follow at St Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the Funeral Mass at Rossi Funeral Home 1937 Westfield Ave Scotch Plains from 9 am to 11 am on Thursday August 28.
Jane was born and raised in Newark, NJ, lived in Roselle and Scotch Plains, prior to settling to Mountainside in 2021. Jane was a Homemaker, fondly remembered by her family to always enjoy her Bailey’s & Chocolate Martinis. Jane was an enthusiastic gambler and enjoyed trips to the casinos with family and friends. Her favorite casino card game was “let it ride” and enjoyed video poker slot machines. In her later years to keep active, Jane attended “ Sage Spend a Day” a program where she enjoyed being around people and completing many activities & crafts. She enjoyed Karaoke and Old movies from the 1940’s - 1960’s. It was amazing how she would know each Actors name and their Bio in the films. She was a wiz in Trivial pursuit, “ Entertainment Category “.
Jane is predeceased by her husband Roy 1996, brothers Charles, George and Richard Wittel and Sister LaVerne Mazzaro.
Jane is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving daughter Kathryn Love, loving grandchildren Stephen Love and wife Alexandra,
Marissa Love-Hensel and husband Michael, Kelly Love-Wynne and husband Danny. Cherished great grandchildren Harley Hensel, John Love & Sullivan Wynne.
Caring siblings Edward and Robert Wittel. Jane is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and many friends.
In loving memory of my Aunt Jane will miss all the fun times, the phone calls and all the laughs we had over the years of growing up with you. May you rest in peace! Love you always your niece Jo-Ann ❤

Rest in Peace Mom. Reunited with your Roy once again and your brothers and sister. Many memories of the 42 years that I have known you. You will be missed especially by your Kathy as you would say.
