WAVERLY — Jane J. O'Connor, Waverly, died Thursday evening, Oct. 27, 2016, in her home surrounded by family.

Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances (Holzenthaler) Whittaker. She was a woman of Catholic faith who attended both St. Gregory's Parish and Our Lady of the Snows Church. Prior to her retirement at the age of 83, she was the secretary for the family interior design business. She adored cooking and baking, but the true joy and love of her life was spending time with her family.

Jane is survived by her brother, Francis Whittaker, with whom she resided in Waverly; two sons, Joseph O'Connor, his wife, Maryella, Scranton, and Sean O'Connor, his wife, Dorothy, Waverly; and eight grandchildren, Jacqueline Trama, Kaitlyn Karzenoski, Theresa, Sarah, Christopher, Marie, Sean and Elizabeth O'Connor.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on in the The Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. Interment will be private in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Dunmore.
