Not sure what to say?

Dear Cathy,

I had been trying to reconnect with Jane for quite some time. I was sorry to learn from Google that she has passed away. My name is Maurice Haynes and I was married to your uncle John H Haynes. I thought your mother was a great champion with a marvelous sense of humor. Please accept my belated sympathy for your great loss.

Maurice Haynes, Chicago, Illinois

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. May all you memories bring you comfort. My fondest memories of Dr. Runnels was her ability to be supportive of beginning administrators. As a new principal in AISD she provided guidance, wisdom, and support unlimited.

Jane Runnels, Ph.d truly left her impact on the faculty and staff at Norman Elementary. Not only was she a good leader, she was a good friend. She was also an encourager. She encouraged me to join the teaching profession and was at the celebration when I completed that tasked. Second, only behind my mother, she was most excited about that accomplishment. Dr. J (as we fondly called her) was left her footprints on my heart. The only thing I can do is try to be half the educator she was.

The Hill Family (formerly members of Hamilton Park UMC) offers your family our deepest sympathies on the passing of your mother.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Mrs. Jane Runnels and her husband were wonderful people. I am glad I had the opportunity to know and work with them both. God bless you and your family. Peace

Dear Friends---We so appreciate your entries. Service today was wonderful in D.C. and we look forward to bringing Mom home to Dallas on Saturday, March 7 for burial in Laurel Land. Love to you all, Cathy

Dear Cathy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Dad and Jane helped me so much. I helped take 15 students to Obama's inauguaration and thought of you all while we were freezing on the mall! My thoughts and prayers are with you, your brother and your son at this difficult time. Love, Joe Grady Moore

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
