Not sure what to say?

Jane, my second cousin once removed, was my genealogical mentor. We met online in the early 1990s while doing research into the Wayland family of Sevier County and all of its many branches. We shared a passion for history and all the accomplishments of our ancestors. We finally met up and traveled together throughout Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina looking for an elusive connection between the Hodges of Sevier County and those Hodges who originally came from Virginia and...

We will miss Jane and all she brought to the Goddard Reunion at New Salem Methodist Church each Sept. She filled in alot of our Goddard Family tree each year with the updates and it was a blessing to have known her as a dear relative. Marilyn and Jack Bowers, Maryville, TN.

This was a very special day you and I shared. I'll cherish the memory always.

I surely remember Brockway and Elsie Crouch. They were my godparents who were asked to be by Willaim McNutt Johnson and Grace Bonnell Johnson for thier adopted children David and Nancy Johnson. And they were wonderful to me as well as thier daughter as I remember from some 50 years ago. My condolence to the family with warm appreciation for having known them. Nancy Park Johnson at [email protected].

How we will miss Jane! She was such a wonderful mentor and willing to share what she knew about our family. She was such a help in my learning to trace our family roots. I'm so glad we were cousins! I am comforted by the thought that the mysteries of William are now hers. There will never be another Jane. Blessings and comfort to all of her family.

Mama Jane, Although I have never met you I feel as though I have through the eyes of your daughter Sharon. My best friend in the world. What a special lady you are. You are dancing with the angles! Gods blessings to your family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.

She came into our lives at Jacksboro United Methodist Church with a smile and her hats that we loved dearly. She will be forever in our hearts. Jane it was a priviledge to know and love you. Goodbye friend.

I will truly miss Jane not only at every function at church but everyday, she was such a blessing to me, and I always new she was praying for me.

Mama Jane, You took me under your wings and was the mother I still needed but did not have. I'm so glad we got to spend some time together last month. I will never forget you. I love you. May God bring lasting comfort to your family. We will miss you.

Mary Adams.
