Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

Jane Waters Wright, 83, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2011 at the New London Hospital surrounded by her family. Jane was born on October 5, 1927 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Leland and Marian Waters, and sister of James. She moved with her family at 14 years old to Framingham, Massachusetts. As a teenager, Jane was an accomplished dancer, performing and enjoying many forms of dance.

Jane graduated from Bates College in 1949. Following graduation, she worked for IBM Corp. where she met her husband, Fred Wright. Jane and Fred raised four children in Armonk, New York before moving to New London, New Hampshire where they have lived for the past 13 years. She was an accomplished gardener, an avid painter, and played bridge regularly with her friends across New London. Jane spent much time during the summers with her family in Ocean Park, Maine.

Jane was happiest when spending time with her husband and their extended family and always looked forward to having everyone together at one time, celebrating holidays, sharing laughter and making memories. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Bama" and will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Wright; her brother Jim Waters and his wife Faith of Concord, Massachusetts; four children, Karen Reed of Old Tappan, New Jersey, Stephen Wright and his wife Christine of Holliston, Massachusetts, Tom Wright and his wife Nancy of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and Judy Cox and her husband Dan of Westwood, Massachusetts and 11 grandchildren as well as a loving extended family.

All are welcome to help celebrate Jane's life on July 22 from 12:00 – 2:00 at the Lake Sunapee Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kearsarge Council on Aging or the Lake Sunap

Not sure what to say?

Dear Fred: I was very sorry to learn about Jane's passing. May God rest her soul and comfort yours at this most difficult time.

23 Carolyn Place was our second home and along with that our other set of parents, Jane was a mom to all of us Byram Hill girls and we loved her deeply. Judy, you know we will always have memories from our youth and your parents and Sandy are part of that. Please know that we love you and are thinking of you, your dad and sibs at this time. May your mom always be with you in your heart. All my love
