Jane Yoder Obituary
Jane Cornelia Yoder, 77, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022.
A native of Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Edward and Margaret Ellen Setzer Shugart.
She was a teacher for Catawba County Schools, and attended Christ United Methodist Church on Zion Church Road.
Mrs. Yoder is survived by her husband, Jimmie Yoder; son, Easton Yoder and wife, Glenna; and two grandchildren, Skylar and Adison Yoder.
A private memorial service will be held in the chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catawba County Humane Society, 3224 20th Ave. SE, Hickory, NC 28602.

My condolences, she was a wonderful teacher, and I know for a fact that she is in Heaven. She helped me to get over more than a few difficult times in my life when I was in school by just listening to me. At times I would wonder if I should have even been capable of getting further in my educational path, but through her encouragement and advice I am now currently in graduate school and am pursuing a degree in clinical mental health counseling. I wish her family the best, and know that my prayers go out to you all.

I am sorry to hear of Ms. Yoder's passing. It was a pleasure to have been a student of hers at Startown. And I enjoyed talking with her at the Optimist basketball games. Prayers for you all.
