Sisters Together

Linda and Jim-
Thinking of you with mother's day approaching and
knowing how difficult it will be. PATTI

Dear Linda and Jim,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Since I do not get the journal I didn't hear about her until Sunday. What a wonderful woman she was. After my husband died she would always find me at church and ask how I was doing. I can still remember the basketball games at your house on Clinton St. and the ball games in the street. Of course I only remember "hearing" them since little sisters were not included.
Such a wonderful saint you had for a mother.

I too had Mrs. Zike for typing and shorthand. Fair, earnest, and unforgettable.

As many of you know Jane was more than just my friend, as she was to many of us. I will miss her almost daily phone calls asking me or one of, "our boys", to stop by for something, weather it was to shovel the snow or just a vist from John. She very much enjoyed John's visits for just a chatt. I never will forget the look on her face when I took her to one of many surprise 90th birthday parties she squezzed my arm and said "are all these people here for me". Little did she know that was only...

Mrs. Zike was an amazing teacher. I was a basketball player and she was one of the biggest supporters of our teams. When we lost the District championship game, I was devastated and took the blame for the loss. When I told her that I felt I had let the whole school down, she got on the PA system later that day to let me and the team know how proud everyone was of us. To this day it is one of the fondest memories of my life.

Rest in peace Mrs. Zike (And thanks to you I typed this at...

Jane Zike was the spirit of Ainsworth High School.

She was a terrific teacher and a wonderful person. She made "typing" rather fun...
My prayers are with the family.
