Janeen was my sister-in-law, my husbands sister. I first met her in the late 50’s when I started dating my husband when we lived in California.. He had 3 sisters, all with names starting with Jan.. (Janell, Janette and Janeen) and he was one of two boys with “J” names (Jeff and Jerry). Their parents were Rose and Bud! All three of the girls gave me a hard time and teased me a lot. All 3 wanted to be called Jan. Quiet, sweet Janeen was smart to leave-...

The Gamble House benefited from Janeen's talent, passion and collecting acumen for fifty years. Through the initial designs for the Greene & Greene Gallery at the Huntington through the special exhibition at Greene & Greene's Thorsen house in Berkeley to the furnishing of Gamble House bedrooms with Stickley furniture and other objects, her presence has been felt and appreciated. Love and much love and very much love.

A lovely memorial writing. Janeen had such a remarkable spirit. I have missed seeing her on the rooftop, just as I have Erika.

I worked with Janeen as a calligrapher at the county. I was her desk mate. Sh worked Monday Wednesday and Friday and I worked Tuesday and Thursday back in the days when we were as needed. But I’ve stayed friends with the office all these years and came in for lunch with them from time to time. I’ve been gifted a necklace or two and appreciated it so much. I’ve known Janeen since 1988 and I’m so sad she didn’t get to enjoy her retirement longer. She was a lovely artist and I know she loved...

Janeen was a wonderful neighbor to our Family. Recently reconnected on social media, we enjoyed seeing her comments on our photos. Janeen was sweet and thoughtful, kind and quiet. And oh so talented! We are so sorry to hear of her passing. I will wear the earrings she made for me today in her honor. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Marrin. ❤
