Not sure what to say?

As the Class of '48 of Germantown Friends School prepares to celebrate its 70th Reunion, we remember Janet, a wonderful friend, mother, wife and devoted advocate for those in need.

Janet was a fellow Sarah Lawrence College alum. We interacted on education and housing. I miss her steadying presence. Her involvement with the University City housing trust was heroic.

As a student at Washington University School of Architecture I lived with the wonderful Becker family on Kingsbury Boulevard in UC for 4 years. Janet and Bernie were wonderful inspiring people even offering to utilize some of my architectural ideas, and above all, Janet was very gracious in constantly beating me in chess games whenever we played!

I met Janet almost thirty years ago, and I will never forget her passion for affordable housing.

Janet was an inspiration to me with her advocacy and work in providing fair and affordable housing, which is what i strive to do today.

She was indefatigable when it came to tracking legislation and legislators whether federal, state or local. A total workhorse as willing to take on the mundane tasks or walk point on a project. Always courteous, gracious and respectful whether you were a corporate or political bigwig or a humble hobo from the streets. I also got a kick out of running into her at blues festivals and concerts. She was a delight.
