BETHLEHEM Janet L. Becker, age 87, formerly of Bangor, PA, passed away on February 2, 2022 in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA. Born August 20, 1934, in Pen Argyl, PA, she was the daughter of Quintus LaBar and Reba Repsher. She graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1952. On August 21, 1954, she married Barry Becker. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last year. Janet lived in the Bangor area her whole life. She was most recently a member of the First United Evangelical Congregational Church in Bangor, where she had also been a member earlier in her life. She had previously been a member of the First U.E. "Blue" Church in Williams Township, from 1967 to 2003, where her husband served as Pastor and where for many years she served as the worship leader. She also sang in the church choir and was involved in the church's mission work. She was employed at Ackermanville Sportswear as a garment trimmer for many years and was a member of the ILGWU. Janet will be remembered for being a loving and kind soul with an infectious laugh. Her faith was unshakeable. She loved spending time with her collective family and especially cherished individual time with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love of family extended to her aunts and uncles, many of whom she was caregiver to in their final years. Janet also loved leading and participating in church events, gardening, and her trips to Maine. Survivors include her husband Barry, with whom she resided; four children, Cathy Jo Ladd, Bangor, PA; Barry Becker Jr., Philadelphia, PA; Lynn E. Becker, Westbrook, ME, and Scott B. Becker, Holland, PA; six grandchildren, Jamie, Abbey, Benjamin, Madison, Mikayla and Megan; two great grandchildren, Sadie and Kenzo; and two brothers, Dale LaBar, Kennett Square, PA and Brian LaBar, Belvidere, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening, February 8 beginning at 6 PM until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA. Family requests that all guests wear masks or face coverings. A celebration of Janet's life and interment in Plainfield Township Cemetery will be private. Pastor Becker and family. We are sad to hear of Janet´s passing. I remember when your family came to the "Blue Church" in 1967. Mrs. Becker was always kind and helpful. We had some good times going to religious concerts together. She was always part of family milestones in my life ( marriage, baptisms, graduations). Her friendly smile will always be remembered. May she Rest In Peace and God comfort you and your family.

Janet was a sweet and loving woman. I spent many hours at her house visiting with Pastor and her. My condolences to my friend and Pastor and to the family. May she Rest In Peace in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
