Janet Aline Cooper passed away peacefully at home, in Trinity, on December 18, 2021, surrounded by her family.  She was born February 5, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Jack and Roberta (Pyle) Brady. 


She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Cooper; and one daughter, Kelly McKennon.


Janet is survived by her sons Matthew Abernathy and wife Bambi McMillian Abernathy, and Leon Papillon Cooper; grandchildren Brady Abernathy, Lexi Abernathy, Katy Stelter and husband David, and A.J. Cooper; sister Jackie Brady; and nephews Jeremy Lewis and wife Jackie, and Joel Lewis and wife Holly. 


Janet loved life and lived to the fullest.  She enjoyed live music, especially classic rock and old country.  She loved to travel, spending time in Alaska, the Big Bend area of Texas including Terlingua and the Chisos Mountains.  In her leisure time she could be found outdoors or cooking.  She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind to cherish her memory and protect her legacy


A Memorial Service will be scheduled in January.
