Janet L. Ellis

Ms. Ellis was a teacher of mine at McCord. I will forever remember her. She was a fantastic teacher and just had a lovely, energetic spirit about her. She grew my love of English, answered my many insessant questions, and banned my friend from speaking three times. It's one of our favorite stories. I was so excited to see her at Kilbourne too! She called me Genevieve. Though I'm saddened to learn of her passing, I'm grateful to have been able to know her, and share a small part of her life...

Janet was a dear friend to me after the passing of her brother, William J. Ellis, who was a special friend of mine since I was a doctoral student in Columbus in 1985 until his passing in 2015. It is so sad we won't be able to share common memories of life in Ohio anymore. RIP!

I knew Janet from our high school days. She and I would play tennis, as she was quite the opponent. I just learned of her passing and am saddened by our loss. My most sincere condolences to her family and friends.

I worked with Janet at Worthington Kilbourne but laughed with her whenever we rode motorcycles together. In fact, we decided not to travel to England one year but to buy the bikes instead. She was truly one of the best people I knew throughout my teaching career. Her humility and warmth enriched students and teachers alike. She fulfilled her calling in life, and we are all better people because she did. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
