Not sure what to say?

Mother, I think of you often. I´m so thankful for everything you taught me about dance & about life. I´m trying to get Ailey tix & am thinking of you so much & remembering our good times. Thank you for the powerful gifts you shared with all of us. You are still missed and deeply loved. God Bless You Xo

Janet was my mom's best friend, and like family to me. Janet, there is no way you could ever be forgotten. I hope you and Mommie are carrying on up there just like you used to down here! Miss you both with all my heart. Please watch over my son for me...and if you guys can...could you please pull some strings and help us down here? We desperately need it!

It's been 8 years. ...... but it doesn't seem like it!!! Jan, you're missed!!!!!

Ironically, Janet would never allow you to be sad. She would always say something to make you laugh or forget your troubles. She was my friend, sister, and "mother" through the difficult years of raising my children and the fun times. We never had a bad time. She would not stand for it. She would give me the look and we would make a polite exit. So many wonderful memories. I will miss her but use the courage she added to my life to continue to embrace life and encourage others do the same.

Janet was beautiful, so full of life, and so talented. Our Central State family will not be the same without her. God's blessings be with the family. I share your loss and grief.

Janet Hicks was the perfect balance of fun, stern, exciting and strict. Her vibrant personality drew you in from the moment you met her, and she always encouraged you to be the best you could be. I am so saddened to hear of her passing-- my thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

Some people you walk with for a day, month, year or lifetime. However, there is one thing I know, my time with Janet was special. She worked with me with women of domestic violence, we traveled to Brazil, ate dinners together, socialized and emailed weekly. She leaves a vacant spot in my heart. For those who knew and loved her, may we find joy and peace in knowing she lived a full life with all of us.

She was my mother's best friend, and boy, how the house rang with their laughter! Janet laughed with her WHOLE body in a type of happy dance, making us all feel her glee. Her eyes always sparkled with joy! Blessings.

Janet....my Mom's best friend...our dance teacher at CHS......our mentor, guardian, our friend, and a major part of our family. No one could shine any brighter! She will be eternally loved and remembered. Blessings to Janet and family.
