Janet-Jorgensen-Obituary

Janet Jorgensen

Obituary

Janet Jorgensen was among those killed in shootings at a busy Omaha shopping mall on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007.

Jorgensen, a longtime employee in Von Maur's gift department, was popular with co-workers and customers alike, her daughter-in-law said.

Almost everyone who shopped there seemed to know the 66-year-old Omaha woman because of her friendly, outgoing personality, said the daughter-in-law, who didn't want her name used.

Jorgensen, who worked at the store since it opened about a dozen years ago, is survived by a husband, three children and eight grandchildren.

For 16 years I have sent beautiful crystal Christmas ornaments to family and friends. Janet has been a part of the selection process of that Christmas tradition for most of those years. She was one of the kindest people I've ever known and I aspire to be like her. What a terrible loss.
